DTN COMMENTS:  Cash cattle country is quiet this afternoon with still just 
a few asking prices noted in parts of the South at $232, bids remain very 
elusive. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until Thursday 
and/or Friday.

Today's slaughter totaled 122,000 head, 5,000 greater than last week, but 
3,000 less than a year ago. Live cattle futures closed sharply lower, off 
132 to 192, while feeders ended the day mostly sharply lower, off 352 to 
up 135, the lone exception was spot November which ended the day higher. 
Beef cutouts are expected to close mixed with light to moderate box 
movement.
