DTN COMMENTS:  A few bids are now on the table this morning in parts of 
Nebraska following the last two days of light trade. Asking prices 
continue to be around $192-plus in the South, but have been pulled back 
in the North in light of higher bids. Note that the USDA is having 
technical difficulties again today, so, Daily Direct Summaries will be 
delayed again today.

So far, this week's business have live deals in Kansas and Texas marked 
at $191 to $192, steady to $2 higher than last week's weighted averages. 
Dressed trade in Nebraska and Iowa has been at $300, $3 higher than the 
prior week's weighted average, basis Nebraska. Beef cutouts are expected 
to be lower with light to moderate box movement (note that the boxed beef 
cutout report has also been delayed due to technical difficulties).

According to the Export Sales Highlight report for the period of November 
29 to December 5, 2024, beef net sales of 11,000 MT for 2024 were up 
noticeably from the previous week and up 32 percent from the prior 4-week 
average. Increases primarily for South Korea (3,400 MT), Japan (3,400 
MT), Mexico (1,400 MT), Canada (800 MT), and China (700 MT), were offset 
by reductions for the Philippines (100 MT) and El Salvador (100 MT). Net 
sales of 5,400 MT for 2025 were primarily for Japan (3,000 MT), South 
Korea (1,500 MT), the Philippines (200 MT), Taiwan (200 MT), and China 
(200 MT). Exports of 15,100 MT were up 5 percent from the previous week, 
but down 1 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were 
primarily to South Korea (4,500 MT), Japan (2,900 MT), China (2,200 MT), 
Mexico (1,800 MT), and Taiwan (1,300 MT).
